Job Description: Tenure-Track Position in Accounting Information Systems, Faculty of Business Administration.

The Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Windsor invites applications for a tenure-track position in accounting, commencing July 1, 2000.

The Faculty of Business Administration offers Bachelor degrees in commerce, business studies, business administration and computer science, and a Master of Business Administration degree. In keeping with the University's theme, "The Degree That Works," co-operative education plays an integral role in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. The Faculty consists of 1317 full-time and 450 part-time undergraduate students, 75 full-time and 71 part-time graduate students, 38 full-time faculty, and 22 sessional instructors.

A medium sized university with a solid reputation in teaching and research, the University of Windsor offers a friendly and supportive environment for both living and learning. It is Canada's southernmost university and its international location provides unique cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities for faculty and students.

Candidates must have completed a doctorate in Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or Computer Science by the date of appointment. Proven knowledge of financial and/or management accounting and the accounting applications of information technology is required. Candidates with a professional accounting designation are preferred.

The candidate will be expected to work in a team integrating SAP R/3 software into business curriculum. The successful candidate must demonstrate a record of, or show potential for, excellence in teaching and research. He/she will teach in both the undergraduate and graduate programs and is expected to participate in student advising and mentoring programs.

Position at Athabasca University: Assistant Professor Accounting:
Responsibilities include the development, teaching, and co-ordination of financial accounting courses in undergraduate degrees in Administration, Commerce and General Studies and university certificates in Accounting and Advanced Accounting.

The ideal candidate should have a doctorate or be near completion of a doctorate in accounting; a master's degree with a professional accounting designation will be considered. Demonstrated excellent communications skills are a must. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in distance and non-traditional adult education.
