CFBSD is a non-profit organisation, incorporated in Canada under the Canadian Corporations Act. The organisation is governed by a Board of Directors, elected by the membership at the Annual Assembly. General policies are set by the Board and ratified by the Membership.

Chair

Daphne Taras became Chair of the Canadian Federation of Business School Deans in October 2015. She is the Dean at the Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan.

Thank you for coming to the CFBSD webpage.  Our organization serves the needs of Canadian business school deans.  Although the landscape for business education seems quite competitive, in reality, we appreciate the opportunity to meet, discuss our issues, share information, sponsor surveys that help us do our jobs, and hear ideas from each other and from the many guests who attend our meetings.  It is not easy being a dean.  We are under intense pressure to balance so many interests, and out Federation helps us become better at our own positions as well as ably representing the aspirations of all Canadian business schools. We all have a deep interest in the quality of education for our students, the production and dissemination of knowledge, and the reputation of Canada as a destination for international talent. We want to be relevant and transformational, and through the CFBSD we maintain our own skills and knowledge of our own unique industry, business education.

Executive Director

Timothy (Tim) Daniel Daus has been Executive Director since 1998. The Executive Director, acting under the authority delegated by the Board, is responsible for all activities and operations of CFBSD. In addition, the Executive Director sits on several Advisory Boards and Working Committees of external bodies interested in the development of management education in Canada and abroad.

Board

The CFBSD Board is composed of twelve Deans or Directors from Regular Business School Members institutions, representing a cross section of regions and types of schools in Canada. Board members serve a term of two years in their respective positions. The Board meets at least twice each year.
