CFBSD  Associate Deans / Research Virtual Meeting

June 18, 2020 @14h00 -15h45 EST (Zoom meeting)

In these unprecedented times of school shutdowns and shifts to remote and on-line learning, we have organised a Zoom conference to discuss issues of common concern.  We are particularly interested in sharing ideas on how the new reality and uncertainty has impacted your school’s research agenda and your role as an academic leader. What have you learned from the crisis? Pleasant surprises? Unpleasant surprises?

This meeting is open to academic leaders from CFBSD member schools who have responsibility for research as part of their portfolio.  In most cases this will be an associate dean.

To register please contact info@cfbsd.ca

Agenda:

1.      How are you doing?

2.      How the current crisis is impacting your faculty members’ and your students’  research.

3.      Managing research and researchers from a distance.

4.      Planning and funding future research.

5.      Topics for future Zoom meetings.

Moderator:

Rachelle J. Shannahan, Associate Dean,

Faculty of Business Administration, Memorial University of Newfoundland

Our Annual Associate Deans Research Meeting  was scheduled to be held June 14  -16  at Memorial University of  Newfoundland  in collaboration with ASAC , whose conference was to  be held at the same location June 12-15, 2020 .

Unfortunately ASAC will no longer be holding an in-person event this year and are currently planning an on-line alternative.

Given this change, and the travel restrictions due to the global crisis  (COVID-19) we are not able to  hold the regular CFBSD  Associate Deans event this year as planned.

We envisage holding the full event next year as usual (late Spring 2021), probably in Montreal in conjunction with ASAC.

Special thanks to the Faculty of Business Administration, Memorial University of Newfoundland for their support.
