The University of Windsor's Odette School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Accounting area, commencing July 1, 2019. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The Odette School of Business takes a balanced approach to research and teaching.  The School offers the following degrees: B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration) Co-operative Education, B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration), B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration and Computer Science) Co-operative Education, B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration and Economics), B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration and Computer Science). Odette also offers a full-time MBA, an MBA Professional Accounting Stream (MBA-PAS) that provides a gateway to earn a CPA, a Weekend MBA for Managers and Professionals, an integrated MBA/JD, and a Master’s of Management Program.  There are approximately 1200 full-time and 400 part-time undergraduate students, and 400 Masters-level students.  The Business School has strong contacts with business and other academic institutions.  The School has recently completed an expansion strategy with approximately 65 full-time faculty positions currently.  The school is AACSB accredited.  For further details about the Odette School of Business visit our website at http://www.uwindsor.ca/business.

Candidates must hold or be near completion of an earned doctorate in accounting.  Candidates are expected to be committed to superior teaching, and to provide evidence of producing high quality, impactful research.  The successful candidate will have the background to teach in at least one of the fields of: auditing or taxation.  The ability to teach in oneboth of these fields would be an asset.  The preferred candidate will possess the ability to contribute to teaching in our accredited accounting program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and will be skilled at applying distributed and face-to-face learning technologies.  Holding a professional accounting designation and familiarity with the CPA Canada program of training would represent an additional asset, and preference will be given to these candidates. Candidates must have demonstrated and/or potential for excellence in teaching and possess excellent written and oral communications skills.  Candidates with a program of research that provides synergies with current faculty are preferred.

  • samples of scholarly writing, including (if applicable) clear indications of your contribution to any jointly authored pieces;

  • graduate transcripts; and
  • three (3) current letters of reference forwarded directly by the referees to the Dean at the address or email listed below.
